My Opinions: Technology in the classroom

Technology in the classroom is absolutley wonderful. Last Monday we had a computer for the students delivered to our classroom and my homeroom loved it. Because it was assembly time again and the students were there for an hour thirty minutes we took the time to go over a few ideas about how I, an English Teacher could incorporate technology into my lesson. The students were full of ideas. Some students may need to practice their typing so the computer may be useful. Others said that they may be able to become more familiar with the internet and how to perform research. These students are extremely bright. As a result, I have discussed brief daily activities for the students with the new computer. Technology in the classroom provides opportunity for both me as a teacher and the students to learn and share. Also, the Internet today is so dangerous that I can use the computer and the time we have together as time of caution and education about surfing the net. Technology in the classroom is exciting. Parents talk with your kids about the use of technology. Allow them supervised visits online if you can or even take them to the local library for a small class. There is information for such classes on the following websites:

www.af.public.lib.ga.us/

More info to come.
